Harmony ZhAng

2018 Contestant #6

Harmony has been in Chicago for the past few years completing a Master of Fine Arts in Acting at The Theater School at DePaul University. Originally from Arizona, Harmony has been thriving in the beautiful city of Chicago and loves bundling up during the winter. For college, she graduated from Duke University with a double major in Psychology and Theater Studies, and a Certificate in Policy, Journalism, and Media Studies. One of the most important things to her is the preservation of stories that highlight the Chinese immigrant family experience. She hopes to honor the challenges and victories of her predecessors in order to keep them alive for future generations to celebrate and learn from.

In Chicago, Harmony has assistant directed the Christmas show at Pui Tak Christian School in 2016, and she has also written two one-act plays that were produced during the Christmas and Easter holidays at Chinese Christian Union Church in Chinatown 2016-2017. Currently, she is performing in The Wong Kids in the Secret of the Space Chupacabra, Go! by Lloyd Suh, the first play featuring Asian American lead roles produced by The Theater School at DePaul University. The play will be running from September 27 through November 3, 2018.
